South Korean Government Standardizes on Thunder 9500V

The South Korean Central Government signed a contract for 200 units of Hitachi Freedom Storage™ Thunder 9500 V Series storage systems. This is the largest single purchase of Thunder 9500V systems in Asia Pacific and International Americas (APIA). Congratulations to LG-Hitachi. Read article.

iSCSI: Storage Networking for Smaller Businesses

Protecting Stored Data: The SAN Dilemma

"Data security has become a far more complex proposition than it was a few years ago, thanks to the rise of storage area networks (SANs)... Today, no standards exist for incorporating security technology directly into SAN devices, industry experts said. However, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has accepted submissions and is creating a draft standard, according to Art Edmonds, senior director in the Office of the CTO at Hitachi Data Systems. Implementations will begin in 2004, he said."
